Being smart about your energy use doesn’t mean you have to make big sacrifices or big changes. Start with your personal space, your home. Some simple changes around the house can shrink your “carbon footprint," save money on your utilities, and even make your home more comfortable. Be comfortable with energy saving

3. Weatherize and insulate: Adding insulation and weatherizing (sealing cracks) keeps the conditioned air inside your house, keeping you comfortable and decreasing the demands on your heating and cooling system.
4. Change light bulbs: compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) come in many styles and natural-looking light colors. Use our CFL calculator to find out how much you can save by switching to CFLs.
